I was born in Argentina, lived in Mexico and Switzerland before moving to the United Sates in 1987. I came to the US as a college student and I was in charge of feeding myself for the first time in my life. I remember the first day I went to the grocery store, it was so different from the ones in Mexico, there were so many foods I had never seen. The frozen section offered dinners called TV dinners that I could stick in the microwave and have ready in minutes! I saw complete meals with chicken, vegetables and rice.  The American famous Mac and Cheese came in a box!  Cheese found in Lunchables was stored on shelves instead of refrigerators. If I couldn’t make it to the grocery store I had a pile of flyers I had accumulated since my arrival. “Delicious Pasta Dished Delivered Right to Your Door in Minutes.” I could also stop by a “drive through window” on my way home and get food without even leaving my car!

It was easy to go days without stepping foot in the kitchen. Food was convenient and abundant; packaged foods, pre-cooked, pre-made. It was so easy to eat these foods.  But I knew these foods were not good for me.

When I had kids I got my first sugar shock. The grocery store has a “Cookie Club”, birthdays at school are celebrated with cupcakes, fruit juices and candy, children are rewarded with m&ms for good behavior, at sporting events children are given “unlimited” Gatorade and even at the liquor store children are offered lollipops.

As I got older and witnessed family and friends go through all kinds of illnesses, I came to realize that a lot of these diseases were a result of lifestyle. I witnessed friend’s battle cancer with food instead of conventional medicine, I saw friends lose weight and regain their self-confidence and health by making changes to their diet and increasing their activity level. I solved my life long digestive issues and skin conditions with food. All these events inspired me to take what I had learned a step further and I pursued my training as a health coach. I received my certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and from the American Association For Drugless Practitioners. I was trained in more than one hundred dietary theories and studied a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods. Today I draw on my experience and knowledge to help you create a completely personalized “roadmap to health” that suits your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and goals.

I work with clients on 3-month and 6-month programs that help them acquire new skills and habits that make real change possible. I do not believe in magic pills or magic potions. It takes months and years to gain weight and begin to feel the health consequences of eating a poor diet and not exercising, it will take time to reverse this process, this lifestyle. Only by making step-by-step changes are you able to lose weight, keep it off and regain your health.

I relate to the pain of many of my client, the pain of having to prepare their every meal! My clients say they are busy and I say, life is busy until it’s not!

I dreaded the idea of setting foot in the kitchen but I did and, I have ever since because eating REAL food changes everything!
